A Prayer: Our Times Are in Your Hands
Notes:
Text:
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul,
and do not forget all his benefits.
Lord, remember us.
Our times are in your hands;
teach us to count our days.
Let your face shine upon us
and hold us in your steadfast love.
You note our laments;
you hold our tears in your bottle.
In you we trust and are not afraid.
For you know how we were made
and remember that we are dust.
Our days are like grass;
like flowers we bloom
and then fade away.
The wind blows and we are gone—
as though we had nevre been here.
But your steadfast love
is from everlasting to everlasting.
Your righteousness
extends to our children's children.
We bring before you those among us
whose lives have been changed by the tornado...
Lord, you know us completely.
You knit us together.
Our past, present, and future are in you.
Amen.
