Belhar Confession

Belhar Confession, a translation of the original Afrikaans text adopted by the synod of the Dutch Reformed Mission Church in South Africa in 1986, which united with the Dutch Reformed Church in Africa in 1994 to form the Uniting Reformed Church in Southern Africa (URCSA). Inclusive language text prepared by the Office of Theology and Worship, Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In 2009 the General Synod of the Reformed Church in America (RCA) adopted the Belhar Confession, and in 2010 the RCA ratified and incorporated it as a doctrinal standard. Synod 2012 of the Christian Reformed Church in North America adopted the Belhar Confession as an Ecumenical Faith Declaration.
